Description : White woolly herbs up to 80 cm tall, aromatic, glandular pubescent. Heads lax, paniculate. Achenes terete. Herbs; stems terete, glabrous. Leaves broadly elliptic, to 10 x 5 cm, acute at both ends; irregularly toothed. Heads 7 x 7 mm, globose, terminal and upper axillary, 10-15 together; bracts 7 x 1 mm, hairy at apex, inner oblong, acute, outer smaller. Bisexual flowers few; corolla 4-6 mm long, glandular, of female flowers slender. Achenes ribbed, hairy.
 
Curated Medicinal Use / Activity : sores and wound healing, treating bronchitis. The plant also exhibited anti-leukemic, anti-viral diuretic, styptic, astringent and ophthalmic properties. The essential oil from leaves has analgesic, hypothermic, and tranquilizing activities and cytotoxic activities against breast cancer cells and healing cuts. The plant also exhibited stimulant, digestive, anthelmintic, liver tonic, expectorant, febrifuge, anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, and anti-fungal activities.
