| Description : |
An annual grass very abundant in wet places on the hills and plains. The
inflorescences are very variable in colour and size. This species was collected from Malampuzha. Meiosis was regular with 10 bivalents at metaphase I. In somatic mitosis 20 chromosomes which range in length between 1ƒÊ a and 2ƒÊ were seen. The cytology of this species is also studied for the first time. |
