Perennials. Culms 30-75 cm high, erect tufted; nodes glabrous. Leaves 6-34 x 0.2-0.6 cm, linear-lanceolate or oblong, apex acuminate, flat or convolute, glaucous; sheaths to 9 cm long; ligules membranous, fimbriate. Panicles 10-33 cm long, pyramidal, effuse. Spikelets 1-2 mm long, ellipsoid, greyish, 1-flowered. Lower glume c. 0.5 mm long, oblong. Upper glume c. 1 mm long, ovate. Lemma 1.5-2 mm long, elliptic-lanceolate. Palea c. 1.5 mm long, elliptic, stamens 2. Grains to 1 mm long, oblong. |
