Culms basally decumbent; nodes glabrous. Leaf-sheaths 1-2.5 cm; ligule to 0.5 mm; blades lanceolate, 1-4.5 x 0.1-0.2 cm, flat. Panicles to 4 cm; spatheoles to 8 mm. Homogamous spikelet lanceolate, to 4 mm. Sessile spikelet: lanceolate, to 3.5 mm. Lower glume lanceolate, to 3 mm, beaked, 5-nerved, puberulous at beak, scabrid; upper glume to 3 mm, 3-nerved, shortly aristate; lower lemma to 2 mm; upper lemma narrow, to 1.5 mm, awn to 1 cm. Caryopsis ellipsoid, to 2 mm. Pedicelled spikelet similar to the homogamous spikelet. Flowering and fruiting: July Grasslands |
