| Description : | Perennials. Culms densely tufted,10-30 cm long, geniculate; nodes glabrous. Leaves 2-8 x 0.2-0.4 cm, linear-lanceolate, base rounded, apex acuminate; sheaths to 3 cm long, slightly keeled; ligule a row of hairs. Panicles 3-6 cm long, contracted, spiciform. Sikelets 1.5-3 x 1-2 mm, oblong, 5-10-flowered, pale yellow. Lower glume c. 1 x 0.5 mm, ovate-lanceolate, 1-nerved. Upper glume c.1 mm long, ovate-lanceolate, 1-nerved. Lemmas 1-1.5 x 0.5-1 mm, ovate-oblong, apex rounded, 3-nerved. Paleas 1-1.5 x 0.5 mm, obovate or oblanceolate, 2-keeled, ciliate along the keels. Stamens 3. Ovary c. 0.5 mm long; stigma c.0.5 mm long. Grains c. 0.5 mm long, linear. Flowering and fruiting: December-June | |||||||||||||
