Description : Piluki is a large climbing shrub, 3-10 m long. Leaves are ovate or elliptical, obtuse or slightly acute, roundish at the base, paler beneath. Flowers spikes at the end of branches are panicled, short, oblong or almost globe-like. Flowers small, yellowish-white. Limb of the sepal-cup with a hairy ring below the insertion of the stamens. Sepals triangular-ovate, curved out. Petals elliptic-oblong, about the length of the sepals. Wings of the fruit semicircular. Flowering: February-April. Combretum ovalifolium tends to be a bit of a nuisance at it climbs to the top and blankets most of the tall trees. However, it does attract a fair amount of avian fauna.
 
Curated Medicinal Use / Activity : The leaves are used in the treatment of peptic ulcer and its fruits are used in Diarrhea and dysentery. Stem bark is used in the treatment of jaundice and skin diseases. Seed oil and root for the treatment of eye problems, eczema, and malaria.
